behind the work

As an oil painter, I draw inspiration from the profound stillness that underlies all creation. It is within nature where we are able to observe this transformative process untouched. My creative process involves attentive observation and deep reflection, as I attempt the hypnagogic reverie at which the reality of my pieces are born. There is an allure and enticing approach to the technique that I have developed called ‘Dreamscape’, inviting exploration into the transcendental terrain where my creativity roams.

It is from within my subconscious where the inevitable emerges. As we know, life is already done, and whatever remains that we cannot control, is yet to be discovered by those who dwell within this space. This space is where dreamscaping takes place.

I attempt to bring forth the stories of the untold, the unheard, creating people whom I’ve never met and yet, knew my whole life. These elements formulate from experiences lived throughout my life shaped by the impetus given by others. At the end of the day, what remains in my paint brushes is what has been transferred to every stroke of paint I attempt to decode.
